Merchant terms
Last updated: 13 October 2026
These terms apply when your community applies to take card payments in person, on card machines, through JollyBee. They sit alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. By submitting the application you agree to them on behalf of your community, and you confirm that you are allowed to.
Who we are
For card payments, JollyBee is provided by Buzz Holdings (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2026/660421/07, 3 Timberon Street, Buitenverwagting, Paarl, South Africa. In these terms, “we” means Buzz Holdings (Pty) Ltd, and “you” means the club, organisation or business that applies.
Our payment partners
Card payments are provided by our payment partners, Glimmer and Paycorp. They review your application, decide whether to approve it, provide the card machines, process the card payments and pay the money out to you. JollyBee does not decide whether you are approved.
When you apply, you also accept our payment partners’ merchant terms. Those terms govern how payments are processed, paid out, refunded and disputed. Where they differ from these terms on those matters, theirs apply.
Applying
- The application form is run by our payment partners and carries the JollyBee name.
- It asks for details of your organisation, of the people who own and run it, and of the bank account your payments should go to, with documents that support them.
- Our payment partners check those identities, your registration and your bank account. They may ask you for more documents.
- The information you give must be true, complete and current. Tell us and our payment partners when it changes, especially your bank account or who owns or runs your organisation.
Fees
Your fees are the ones in the quote you accept during your application. They can include card machine rental and a share that is paid to JollyBee. Fees may be deducted from the money paid out to you. Our payment partners’ terms say how fees can change and how much notice you get.
Your money
Our payment partners pay your card payments into the bank account they verified for you. JollyBee never receives or holds the money from your card payments. When payouts happen is set out in our payment partners’ terms.
Card machines
- Keep your card machines safe, and use them only for your own organisation’s sales.
- Don’t take card payments on behalf of another business or person.
- Follow the instructions and card scheme rules our payment partners give you.
- Tell us or our payment partners straight away if a card machine is lost, stolen or looks tampered with.
- When your merchant account ends, return the card machines as our payment partners’ terms require.
Refunds and disputes
You are responsible for refunds to your customers and for card disputes (chargebacks) on your payments. Our payment partners’ terms say how a disputed amount, and any fee for it, is recovered from you.
Information we share and receive
- To start your application, we may share your community’s name and contact details with our payment partners.
- Our payment partners tell us how your application is going. Once it is approved, they send us your merchant number and the numbers of your card machines.
- For each card payment, they send us a record with the amount, the date and time, the card machine, whether it was approved, and the last four digits of the card. They also send us daily reports.
- When a payment record reaches us, we remove any full card number or card expiry date from it before it is saved.
- We use this information to keep a record of your card payments, to link them to your community on JollyBee, and to help you when you have a question about them.
- We handle personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and our Privacy Policy.
Ending
You can stop taking card payments through JollyBee at any time by emailing support@jollybee.buzz. How your merchant account with our payment partners is closed, including notice and returning card machines, is set out in their terms, and we’ll help you through it.
We can stop offering card payments to your community if you break these terms or our payment partners’ terms, if our payment partners ask us to, or if our arrangement with them ends. We’ll tell you by email first, unless the law or our payment partners require us not to.
Responsibility
Our payment partners are responsible for approving applications, processing payments and paying out. We are not responsible for their decisions, or for faults in their systems or card machines, but we will help you raise a problem with them. Nothing in these terms limits a right you have under South African law that cannot be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll email your community’s contact on JollyBee before a change takes effect, and the date at the top of this page shows when they last changed.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa.
